Abie Loy Kemarre

Abie Loy Kemarre is the eldest of five children and was born in 1972 and lives at Mosquito Bore Utopia which is 270km northeast of Alice Springs.

Her mother is Margret Loy a noted artist as is her father Ray Loy Pwerle and her grandmother Kathleen Petyarre. It has been said that she developed her style by watching Kathleen paint where she delicate dotting highlighted the structure of her paintings. Abie concentrated on the bush Hen Dreaming story.

She inherited that story from her grandfather and then on a bolder and more abstract style. Abie Loy Kemarre has been painting for more than 30 years.

She has exhibited both nationally and internationally including at the National Gallery
